Alice Jean Grimsley Matney, 70, Green County, KY Alice Jean Grimsley Matney of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Earl M. Grimsley and Frances DeSpain Grimsley, was born on Monday, February 25, 1952 in Taylor County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the UofL Hospital in Louisville. She was 70 years, four months, and two days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Second Baptist Church. She was also a retired secretary for the former Grimsley Insurance Agency. Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Dewayne Matney of Greensburg having united in marriage on July 18, 1970. Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Shannon Matney of Greensburg; four grandchildren: Mony Matney of Lexington, Isaiah Matney, Rashad Dunn, and Cequinta Dunn all of Greensburg; eight great-grandchildren: Zayn Gilbert, Annie Gilbert, Kayden Wayne Gilbert, Aliy Dunn, Khy Dunn, Nolan Dale Stayton, and Nora Kay Stayton all of Greensburg, and Emiyah Enda of Somerset; a sister and brother-in-law: Ruthie and Louis Judd of Greensburg; other in-laws: Tony & Patricia Matney, Ronald & Sheila Matney, Victor & Teresa Matney, Raymond & Sheila Matney, Deloris & Dale Curry, Barney & Rita Matney, Margaret & Ronald Gene Tucker all of Green County; Thomas & Ruthie Matney of Louisville, Eugene & Shirley Matney of Taylor County, and Clinton & Mina Matney of Lexington; and a host of other relatives and friends. Honoring her wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be a memorial visitation for Alice Jean Grimsley Matney held from 4-8pmCT Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.
