Softball: LWC set for Weekend Series against Cumberland

The Lindsey Wilson softball team is set to take on Cumberland (TN) on the road in a four-game series on Saturday and Sunday. The first pitch on both days is set for 1pmCT on the campus of Cumberland University's Bill Dee Ross Stadium.

Lindsey Wilson enters the game off a 3-1 series loss to No. 3-ranked Freed-Hardeman (TN). The Blue Raiders are 24-10 on the season and 15-7 in Mid-South Conference play.


Makea-Al Kaluau has guided the Blue Raider offense with a .474 batting average and a .533 on-base percentage. Seven Lindsey Wilson student-athletes are batting over .300 this season. Emily Boin has seen the most success in the center circle this season with a 2.62 ERA to go along with a 10-3 record across 91 innings pitched. She leads the team with 109 strikeouts.

Cumberland enters the competition with a .500 record at 16-16 with an 11-13 mark inside the MSC. The phoenix is winners of their last five-of-six competitions including a 3-1 MSC series win over Bethel (Tenn.).

The Blue Raiders sit in second place in the conference standings with the Phoenix are in fifth place.
