CU and sponsors present Eurydice February 24-27, 2022 By Chosalin Morales Campbellsville, KY - For Campbellsville University's spring performance, the Department of Theater and Dance, Town Hall Productions and Heritage Children's Services will present "Eurydice." The play will debut at 7pmET on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in the Russ Mobley Theater of the Alumni Building at 114 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY, and continue Friday, February 25 at 7pmET; Saturday, February 26 at 7pmET and Sunday, February 27 at 2:30pmET Written by Sarah Ruhl, "Eurydice" is a 2003 play that entails the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of his wife, Eurydice. Full of dark humor, lyrical beauty and wit, Ruhl's play transforms this traditional myth into a contemporary showcase on love and grief. On the day of their wedding, Eurydice is taken to the Underworld and reunited with her dead father. General admission is $10. Admission cost for seniors and children is $7. Cost for CU employees is $5 while CU students are eligible to attend at a no cost fee. All tickets can be purchased at https://townhallpro2013.ticketleap.com/eurydice. Orpheus is being played by Gavin Johnson, a sophomore of Campbellsville, Ky., and Eurydice is being played by Priscilla Wilson, a freshman of Lebanon, Ky. Eurydice's father will be played by Nathaniel Clifford, a senior of Glasgow, Ky., the Lord of the Underworld is being played by Spencer Ingram, a sophomore of Mt. Eden, Ky., and the Stones will be played by Haley Fetcher, a junior of Morehead, Ky., Holly Jo Evans, a senior of Cannon, Ky., and Morgan Rayhill, a senior of Shepherdsville, Ky. Jon Andrew, instructor in theater arts, is the director of the play. Starr Garrett, theater director and professor of theater at Campbellsville University, will be the tech director and in charge of custom design for the production. Matt Nall, technical director of the theater, will be in charge of set design and construction. Alia McClendon, community theater manager, will be in charge of lighting and design. Prop design is Kristin Dowdy, instructor of theater dance; and stage manager is Sinjin Fuchs, a junior of Eubank, Ky. Assistant stage managers are Emma-Kait Grider, a sophomore of Columbia, Ky., and Jon McIntosh, a freshman of Beatyville, Ky. Sound design and sound board operator is Lauren Phillips, a junior of Campbellsville, Ky.; Prop crew and water manager is Gabe Taylor, a junior of Fisherville, Ky.; and prop crew and front of house crew is led by Emily Whitehurst, a freshman of Liberty, Ky. Lighting crew and front house manager is Jaren Childers, a junior of Cecilia, Ky. Lighting crew and spotlight operators are Colin Harris, a freshman of Auckland, New Zealand., and Yuri Tomita, a junior of Oamishirasato, Japan. Lighting crew and light board operator is Malarie Drake, a freshman of Bowling Green, Ky. Costume stitcher and wardrobe include England Blye, a junior of Louisville, Ky.; Anna Webb, a senior of Magnolia, Ky., and April Webb, a senior of Magnolia, Ky.
