Geneva Sullivan Collins, 79, Campbellsville, KY (1942-2022)

Geneva Sullivan Collins of Campbellsville passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. She was 79 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 10amET on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Minister Fella Wilson. Burial will follow in W. P. Campbell Cemetery, Russell County, Kentucky.

Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Geneva Sullivan Collins, daughter of the late Almon Sullivan and Pauline Campbell Sullivan, was born April 5, 1942 in Russell County, Kentucky.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Geneva was a homemaker and bookkeeper and manager of Dynamic Athletic Center she and her husband owned.

She had an ear for music and began playing by ear at age four and never learned to read music but could play anything she heard.

She loved decorating especially at Christmas and enjoyed watching her grandsons play ball.

She united in marriage to Charlie Collins July 10, 1959 and he preceded her in death June 5, 2020.

She is survived by one son and one daughter: Mark Collins and wife, Teresa of Seymour, Tennessee and Jennifer Chewning and husband, David of Campbellsville; two grandsons: Matthew A. Chewning of Nicholasville and John P. Chewning and wife, RaeAnn of Campbellsville; one sister, Betty Wheat; her granddog, Lilly Fiona; nieces and nephews: Sandy Bell of Louisville, Gene Smith of Columbia, Mike Akers of Lexington, Lana Maupin of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Patrick Sullivan of Nicholasville and Ann Hatcher of Jamestown and many other relatives and friends.

Geneva was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: Almon Sullivan, Jr., Joyce Akers and Lois Smith.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Woodlawn Christian Church or Gideon Bibles and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
