Rozella Louise Crew, 91, Liberty, KY (1930-2022)

Rozella Louise (Thompson) Crew went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 91 years young.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville St, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Bud Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5pmET until 8pmET on Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Due to efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 masks will be required at the funeral home.


Born June 13, 1930, in Liberty, KY, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Velma Tarter Thompson. Rozella was a wonderful beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ many years ago and was a member of Labascus Church of Christ. Rozella was a homemaker and loved to work in the yard and with her flowers. She loved to work with lumber and once built a storage building solely by herself. Rozella also loved to sing and be with family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Sherril (Elisa) Morgan of Hartwell, OH; two daughters, Sharon (Joe) Woolums of Frankfort and Karen (James) Morgan of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Branden (Shelley) Cochran of Liberty, Jessica Cochran of Cincinnati, OH, Dewayne (Chrissy) Morgan of Liberty, Shane (Laura) Morgan of Liberty, Lindsey (Glen) Spiekerman of Columbus, OH, Christy (Brook)Nugent of Selma, LA, and Chris (Carman)Woolums of Florence; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Charles and Glen Thompson, both of Liberty; one sister, Montie (Jimmy)Burchell of Liberty; a host of nieces and nephews; and her little dog CC. Thanks goes out to all those who helped with the loving care and support of Rozella.

In addition to her parents, Rozella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eldie Crew, who passed away on November 20, 2009; and two brothers; Alfred Thompson and William "Bill" Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Morgan, Shane Morgan, Branden Cochran, Cody Morgan, Albert Thompson, Charlie Thompson, and Ricky Staitor. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Morgan, Joe Woolums, and Mark Burchell
