Norman Wesley Cox, 79, Adair Co., KY native (1942-2022)

Norman Wesley Cox of Elkhorn passed away on Sunday, January 9th, 2022, at his home. He was 79 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amET on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at at Auberry Funeral Home, 503 East Main St., Campbellsville. Burial will follow in Merrimac Church Cemetery.

Visitation is requested on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 6pmET until 8pmET at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.


Norman Wesley Cox, son of the late Pete Cox and Nancy Elizabeth Tucker Cox was born January 19th, 1942, in Adair County.

He professed his faith in Christ and attended Meade County General Baptist Church. Norman was a carpenter by trade and worked as a construction contractor for most of his life.

Norman is survived by:
  • His three loving children: Otis Cox of Brandenburg, Kentucky; Rhonda Wirth and her husband, William, of Louisville, Kentucky; and Duane Cox of Brooks, Kentucky.
  • Three grandchildren: Alex Wirth, Matthew Wirth, and Stephanie Wirth, all of Louisville, Kentucky.
  • One brother: Harold Cox of Louisville, Kentucky.
  • Special friend: Brenda Helm of Merrimac.
Besides his parents, Norman is preceded in death by:
  • One son: Norman Wesley Cox, Jr.
  • One brother: Jim Cox.
  • Two sisters: Edna Cox and Mary Alice Thompson
