Football: LWC remains at No. 1 in final NAIA poll

The Lindsey Wilson football team (10-0, 7-0 MSC Bluegrass Division) remained at the top of the rankings for the 10th consecutive week in the final NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top-25 poll, officials at the national office announced on Sunday evening.

The Blue Raiders received 444 voting points and 18 first-place votes in the poll.


Morningside (IA) remained at No. 2 with 427 points and the final first-place vote while Grand View (IA) remained at No. 3 with 409 voting points. Northwestern (IA) remains at No. 4 with 394 voting points while Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top five with 376 voting points.

Lindsey Wilson is one of five other Mid-South Conference schools to be ranked with Reinhardt (GA) improving one spot to No. 6 with 357 voting points. Keiser (FL) moved up a spot to No. 11 with 267 voting points while Georgetown (KY) moved two spots to No. 15 with 205 voting points. Faulkner (AL) moved to No. 24 with 38 voting points while Southeastern (FA) was mentioned in the receiving votes section.

The Blue Raiders open postseason play when they host Montana Western in the First Round of the NAIA Football Championships on November 20th at Parnell Family Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:30pmCT.
