Alesa Frances Branham, 94, Columbia, KY (1927-2021)

Alesa Frances (Hodges) Branham of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Kensington Center in Elizabethtown, KY. She was 94 years old.

Visitation will be on Saturday after 9amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was born in Hart County, KY on January 10, 1927 to the late Rev. M. B. and Flossie Riggs Hodges. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Being born to a father who was a Methodist minister and a mother who was a piano music teacher, Frances loved church activities, playing the piano, and singing both with her immediate family and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Branham, her son Daryl Branham, a sister Leola Gabbert (James) and a brother Hartsell Hodges (Mildred).

Survivors include a daughter Pat Coomer (Ron) of Cecilia, KY; a grandson Kyle Coomer (Lara) of Elizabethtown, KY; two great granddaughters Emma Kate and Anna Brooke Coomer; a daughter-in-law Jane Whitney Branham of Columbia; a sister-in-law Kathreen Branham of Columbia and several loving nieces and nephews.

Frances loved her special caregivers Tandy Rogers, Buffy Jessie, Lari Caso and Jeanie Coppersmith who became like family. Also, a special thank-you to the loving staff at Atria Senior Living, Elizabethtown, KY, where Frances resided for nearly four years.

Pallbearers will be Tony Hodges, Mike Hodges, Kyle Coomer, Ron Coomer, Danny Reeves and Terry Hadley.

In lieu of flowers, since church was a major part of Frances' life, expressions of sympathy could include an offering to the church of your choice.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at stottsphelpsmcquearyfh.com.
