Soccer: LWC Men to face Bethel in MSC Semifinals By Kyle Jackson The No. 11-ranked and top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team will continue post-season play on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, with a semifinal match against No. 4-seed Bethel (TN) in the Mid-South Conference tournament. Kickoff is set for 5pmCT in Bowling Green, Ky. The Blue Raiders (12-2-1, 10-1 MSC) enter tomorrow's game after defeating No. 8-seed Georgetown (KY) 3-2 in a thrilling quarterfinal encounter at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. Nathaniel Opoku's late goal in the 88th minute sealed the victory for the Blue Raiders. Opoku continues to lead the Blue Raiders in goals scored with 16 in 15 games this season. Meanwhile, Alexander Koziolek leads the team in assists with nine after 14 games, a career-high. As a team, Lindsey Wilson have outshot their opponents 295-126 this year outscoring them 44-20. As for the Wildcats (13-5-1, 7-4 MSC), they enter tomorrow's match after defeating No. 5-seed Tennessee Southern 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament. An 83rd minute winner from Callum McKenna helped the Wildcats move on in the bracket. Senior forward Pascal Mohungsi continues to lead the Wildcats in goals scored with nine and assists with nine in 18 games played. As a team, the Wildcats have scored 35 goals this season and average 14 shots per game. This will be the 11th all-time meeting between these two programs with the Blue Raiders winning the previous meeting earlier this season 1-0 on October 16th. Opoku scored the game-winner in the 62nd minute of that match. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series 8-1 and have never faced Bethel in postseason play.
