ACES Conservation Poster Winners announced

By Rachel Waggener
Visual Arts Teacher

Winners of the Jim Claypool Conservation Art Poster Contest at Adair County Elementary School have been announced. There were SO MANY great posters this year. I am so proud of the number of students who participated this year and learned about the importance of Kentucky's water supply. The judges sure had some tough decisions to make!

The winners at Adair County Elementary School are:
  • Addilyn Garcia Addilyn's poster won first place. Addilyn is a third grader in Mrs. Wade's homeroom.

  • Braylen Bolom Braylen's poster won second place. Braylen is a third grader also in Mrs. Wade's homeroom.

  • Ellie Staten Ellie's poster won third place. Ellie is a fourth grader in Mrs. Grant's homeroom.
These posters will go on to compete at the regional level.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated this year in our art poster contest. The Jim Claypool Art Poster Contest is a huge tradition in Adair County, and so many adults still tell me about the time they won when they were kids! This year's theme was "We All Need Water."

Students were asked to create a poster persuading people to conserve and protect Kentucky's water supply. The contest is sponsored by The Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation, The Division of Conservation, and The Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts.
