Football: LWC ranked #1 for fifth straight week

The Lindsey Wilson football team (4-0, 1-0 MSC Bluegrass Division) remained at the top of the rankings for the fifth straight week in the latest NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top-25 poll, officials at the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders received 444 voting points in the poll and 18 first-place votes.


Northwestern remains just behind the Blue Raiders in second with 425 voting points. Morningside tallied 412 points for third place and the final first-place vote. Grandview stayed in fourth with 393 voting points while Concordia closed out the top five with 376 voting points.

Lindsey Wilson is one of six other Mid-South Conference schools to be ranked with Keiser remaining in sixth with 344 voting points. Georgetown also remained in eighth with 327 voting points. Reinhardt jumped to 12th with 243 voting points while Faulkner moved to 20th with 103 voting points. Cumberlands sits just a spot below in 21st with 102 voting points. St. Thomas sits in the receiving votes section of the poll.

The Blue Raiders continue their season with a trip to Thomas More on October 9th. Kickoff is set for 6pmCT.
