Soccer: LWC Men begin 3 game road trip this week

The No. 18-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (3-1-1, 2-0 MSC) will continue Mid-South Conference play this week starting first with a trip to Life (GA) (3-2-2, 1-0-2 MSC) Tuesday at 6pmCT at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, GA.

In their previous match, the Blue Raiders defeated Pikeville (KY) 3-0 after goals from Cyrus Harmon and Nathaniel Onyina Opoku. Alexander Koziolek had two assists in the game.


As for the Running Eagles of Life, they enter tomorrow's match after tying fellow Mid-South Conference side Cumberland (TN) 3-3 in double overtime on September 25th. In a back-and-forth match, Danny DeLorijn got the game-tying goal for Life in the 82nd minute to send the game to overtime.

Back to the Blue Raider side of things, Koziolek is having the best season of his career, leading the Blue Raider offense with three goals and three assists so far this season. Meanwhile, Harmon and Opoku both have two goals and an assist this year. As a team, Lindsey Wilson have outshot their opponents 92-39 this year scoring 11 goals.

Life is also undefeated in conference play this season with a win over Tennessee Southern and their recent tie against Cumberland. Danny DeLorijn leads the team in goals scored with three in four games while Wilfried Tchoupa Kamden leads the side in assists with three in four games. As a team, Life has outshot their opponents 71-52 scoring eight goals so far this season, averaging two per game.

This will be the 14th all-time meeting between these two programs with the first meeting taking place on September 7, 1996. Lindsey Wilson is 10-3 all-time against the Running Eagles and is on a three-game win streak in all competitions.
