Soccer: LWC Women roll over Pikeville 11-0

The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team continued their hot streak this week, pushing home 11 goals against Pikeville (KY) on Friday evening at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. For the week, the Blue Raiders are outscoring their Mid-South Conference foe's 16-1.

Six different Blue Raiders (3-2, 2-0 MSC) recorded goals in the contest with four LWC athletes scoring twice. Lindsey Wilson managed four goals in the first half, followed by a seven-goal effort in the second half.


Claudia Sardina, Alicia Thoresen, Alina Siegel, and Yudaya Nakayenze each collected two goals in the match with Thoresen adding an assist. Emma Lindell managed a goal of her own and added a career-high four assists along the way. Lindell's four assists ties a program record for assists in a game.

Tracy Jones added one goal and two assists as Silvia Marchesi tallied one goal and one assist. Claudia Santillan Escobar managed three assists.

The Blue Raiders did now allow a Pikeville (3-4, 0-2 MSC) shot during the 90-minute contest as LWC peppered 28 shots with 19 landing on target. Lindsey Wilson finished the match with 15 assists on their 11 goals.

The Blue Raiders return to the pitch on Sept. 28 when they hit the road to Marietta, Georgia to take on Life (GA) at 4pmCT.
