Soccer: LWC Women return home to face Georgia Gwinnett By Christopher Webster The No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team returns to battle (RV) Georgia Gwinnett on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 7pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (1-1, 0-0 MSC) won their last match against No. 9 John Brown (AR) 2-1 on Saturday. Emma Lindell and Larissa Modesto De Souza scored for Lindsey Wilson with Yudaya Nakayenze recording assists on both goals. Goalkeeper Maya Caon totaled 12 saves in the match, seven coming in the first half. Caon won Mid-South Conference and NAIA Defensive Player of the Week awards for her performance against John Brown. Georgia Gwinnett (4-3, 0-0 CAC) lost their most recent match to Mid-South Conference foe Campbellsville (Ky.) 3-0. Goalkeeper Matilda Waldt recorded two saves in the loss. Joy Mertzig leads the Grizzles in goals scored with five on the season. There is a five-way tie for assists with Addie Adame, Maya Alibudbud, Ashley Donselaar, Bre Harvey, and Maria Rivera all with two apiece.
