LWC Volleyball win streak continues with Thomas More sweep

The No. 20-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team (7-1, 2-0 MSC) picked up their sixth sweep of the season with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 28-26) win over Thomas More (KY) (11-1, 0-1 MSC). The win extends the Blue Raiders win streak to six games.


The offense was led by Johanna Alcantara who recorded a career-high 17 kills. Radaisy Valdez and Madison Bidwell recorded 10 kills apiece. Camryn Rich guided the offensive production with a season-high 41 assists.

Lindsey Wilson dominated in set one, jumping out to an early 10-5 lead. The Saints didn't pull closer than five points for the remainder of the set as the Blue Raiders cruised to a 25-11 win. Lindsey Wilson held Thomas More to a .097 hitting percentage in the first set.

The second set both teams battled back and forth early for an advantage. Being tied at 10, the Saints grabbed the lead with a kill by Sawyer Lorentz and an attack error by Rich. Lindsey Wilson rallied to score the next eight points eventually winning the second set 25-17. Rich recorded 11 assists in the set.

Thomas More opened the third set with five straight points. Alcantara scored the Blue Raiders first two points of the final frame propelling LWC to trailing by one at 9-8. Lindsey Wilson eventually tied the match at 17 but the Saints would have match point at 24-21 lead. Lindsey Wilson tied the match at 24, surviving three straight set points. Trailing again, this time at 26-25, two kills from Alcantara and one from Rich sealed the match for the Blue Raiders.

The Blue Raiders return to action as they take on No. 1-ranked Missouri Baptist in the Spartan Invitational on Friday.
