LWC Men's Cross Country selected to finish 3rd in MSC poll

The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country program was picked to finish third according to the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, officials announced on Thursday.

The Blue Raiders received 96 voting points from the conference coaches.

Shawnee State (OH) received 121 voting points in the preseason poll, including 11 of the 12 first-place votes. The Bears finished as the top team in the conference last season capturing the program's fifth consecutive MSC championship and their 10th in the last 11 years.

Campbellsville University racked up 108 voting points and the final first-place vote.


Cumberland (TN) received 91 voting points to finish fourth in the preseason poll while Cumberlands (KY) landed at fifth with 74 voting points.

Georgetown (KY) garnered 73 points for the sixth spot in the poll as Freed-Hardeman (TN) and Thomas More (KY) tied for seventh with 56 points.

UT Southern (TN) was tabbed 10th in the poll with 39 voting points. Pikeville (KY) placed 11th in the poll with 20 points with Life finishing the poll in 12th with 17 points.

The Mid-South Conference Cross Country Championships are scheduled for November 5 at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, KY.

Lindsey Wilson opens the 2021 season on September 18 with the Drakes Creek Scramble in Bowling Green, KY.
