LWC Football Ranked No. 1 in NAIA Coaches Top-25 Poll By Christopher Coombs The Lindsey Wilson football team took the top spot in the preseason NAIA FirstDown PlayBook Coaches' Top-25 poll, officials at the national office announced on Monday. The Blue Raiders captured the program's first-ever NAIA National Championship last season. Lindsey Wilson has been ranked inside the top-25 for 94 consecutive polls dating back to Aug. 12, 2013. It is the fourth-longest streak in the NAIA. Lindsey Wilson racked up 418 total voting points and all 18 first-place votes. It marks just the fifth time in program history the Blue Raiders have received the top spot in the coaches poll. Last season LWC finished with a perfect 11-0 record while claiming the program's fourth Mid-South Conference Bluegrass divisional title. Northwestern (IA) sits in second with 402 voting points as Morningside (IA) is third with 386 points. MSC member Keiser (FL) is fourth with 366 points as Grand View (IA) rounds out the top-5 with 356 points. Joining the Blue Raiders and the Seahawks from the MSC in the poll is Reinhardt (GA) in eighth with 310 points and Georgetown (Ky.) in 13th with 220 points. Southeastern (FL) also cracked the top-25 in 22nd with 53 points.
