Metcalfe Hazardous Waste collection Saturday

The Metcalfe County Recycling Center, 910 Industrial Drive, Edmonton, is holding Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 8am-1pmCT.

A list of basic items they will be accepting follows:



They are accepting: Aerosol Cans, Oil Based Paints and solvents, paint thinners and sealants. (no latex or acrylic which can be hardened with sand or kitty litter and thrown in the trash).

Herbicides/Pesticides, Corrosives (acids/bases) reactive/oxidizers.

Neutral pH liquids/Misc. Cleaners

Non-DEA Medications (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, cold medicines, etc)

Pharmaceutical Medications (opioids, contraceptives, antibiotics, hormones, etc.)

Mercury devices (thermometers, button batters, children's shoes that light up, etc.)

Florescent lamps, propane cylinders (less than 30 pounds), fire extinguishers, PCB Ballast, smoke detectors, drain cleaners, moth balls, pool chemicals, oil and antifreeze, engine and radiator flushes, batters - mixed household, wood preservatives, brake cleaners, creosote, arts and craft supplies and more.
