LWC Women's Soccer 2020 Rewind By Kyle Jackson The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team made its 27th appearance in the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship in their 2020 season. The Blue Raiders finished the year at 11-4-2 overall as they advanced to the first round of the NAIA Soccer Championship bracket. The Blue Raiders started the season with a 2-1 away loss to Mobile (AL) before winning their first game of the season a week later with a commanding 5-2 victory at Life (GA). Lindsey Wilson returned home to face Cumberlands (KY) in their home opener, where they tied the Patriots 0-0 after double overtime. The Blue Raiders shook off the overtime draw by going on a three-game winning streak, defeating Campbellsville (KY), Shawnee State (OH) and Freed-Hardeman (TN) before losing in overtime to No. 23-ranked Bethel (TN). In the postseason, Lindsey Wilson defeated Life once more, this time a 2-0 victory in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The Blue Raiders were dealt an early exit however, losing to the Cumberlands 3-0 in the semifinal. In the NAIA National Tournament, the Blue Raiders won opening round bracket in Hattiesburg, Mississippi defeating No. 24 West Virginia Tech 2-0 in the semifinal and No. 7 William Carey 1-0, advancing the Blue Raiders to the final site in Columbia County, Georgia. Lindsey Wilson was knocked out of the tournament after losing 3-2 to No. 21 Cumberlands in the first round of the NAIA National Championship. Cyrus Harmon led the team in scoring in his first season with the Blue Raiders, scoring 12 goals in 17 games. Neville Morgan led the team in assists with a career high eight in 17 games. David Coffey led the teams in saves with 40 in 14 games and held a goals against average of 1.168. Mid-South Conference Player of the Year
