Lindsey Wilson Football releases 2021 schedule

By Christopher Coombs

Lindsey Wilson football head coach Chris Oliver announced the 2021 Blue Raider schedule on Monday. The Blue Raiders are slated to play a 10-game schedule in 2020 with five home and five away games.

Lindsey Wilson opens the season on Thursday, Sept. 2, at Blue Raider Stadium against Mid-South Conference Sun Division member Webber International (FL) in a non-divisional game. The season-opener marks the only game on the Lindsey Wilson schedule featuring a team the Blue Raiders are playing for the first time.

The Blue Raiders continue competition against MSC Sun Division school on Saturday, Sept. 11 when they take on Keiser (FL) at Blue Raider Stadium. The contest is a rematch of the 2020 NAIA Football Championship Series semifinals where the Blue Raiders won 38-14.

Lindsey Wilson closes out non-divisional competition with an MSC Appalachian Division opponent in St. Andrews (NC). The Saturday, Sept. 25 matchup is the Blue Raiders' first road action of the season.

The Blue Raiders kickoff MSC Bluegrass Division play against Cumberland (TN) at Blue Raiders stadium on Saturday, Oct. 7. The game will serve as the 2021 homecoming matchup. LWC then hits the road to take on Thomas More (KY) on Saturday, Oct. 9 before returning home for a matchup with Georgetown (KY) on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Lindsey Wilson then has a two-game homestand where they face Pikeville (KY) and Bethel (TN) on Saturday, Oct. 23 and 30, respectively.

Lindsey Wilson faces Campbellsville (KY) on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Blue Raider Stadium in the annual Battle of Highway 55 to close out home games. LWC finishes off the regular season with a contest against Cumberlands (KY) on the road on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Lindsey Wilson is coming off its best season in the program's history. The Blue Raiders boasted a perfect 11-0 record en route to capturing the program's first NAIA Football Championship Series National Championship.
