Rich earns CoSIDA Volleyball Academic All-District Team honors By Christopher Coombs Camryn Rich has earned Volleyball Academic All-District honors, selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), the organization announced on Thursday. The rising junior earns the distinction based on her academic and athletic success. Rich was selected from a pool of football student-athletes from NAIA institutions in District 2 -- which includes institutions located in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. First-team Academic All-District honorees are included on the ballot for the Academic All-America, selected in early July. Rich produced a 3.82-grade point average in Psychology. As a setter, Rich racked up 908 assists to go along with 80 kills and 319 digs this season. She helped guide the Blue Raiders to a 22-5 overall record and both the Mid-South Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship as well as a berth at the NAIA National Championship final site. Student-athletes are nominated by their school's sports information directors and voted on by CoSIDA members in their district. The nominees must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, be a sophomore or higher in academic standing and be a starter or important reserve on their respective teams. Eight Lindsey Wilson volleyball student-athletes have earned all-district honors 11 times since 2012. This story was posted on 2021-06-10 20:29:26
