Betty Robertson Thorsen, 78, Russell Springs, KY (1942-2021) Betty Robertson Thorsen of Russell Springs passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center, in Somerset. She was 78 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Andy Robertson and Bro. Bobby Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be after NoonCT on Thursday, until time for services at Bernard Funeral Home. Betty was born on August 5, 1942, in Russell County, daughter of the late Willis and Lois Luttrell Robertson. Though she prided herself in being a homemaker for her family, Betty obtained her CDL and drove a tractor trailer truck across the United States. She had also worked as a manager of a shoe store in Campbellsville and as a jewelry store manager in Greenville, South Carolina. She was an avid gardener. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Thornton (and Susan), of Lexington, and Paul Brent Thornton (and Julie), of Owensboro; her brothers, Billy Robertson (and Becky) and Stevie Robertson, both of Russell Springs; her sister, Bonnie Richardson (and Marion), of Russell Springs; seven grandchildren, Elijah Thornton, Thomas Henry Thornton (and Hannah), Josiah Thornton, Grace Thornton, Abigail Thornton, John Samuel Thornton and Rebecca Thornton; step-grandson, Kyle Thornton; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Thornton. Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Al Thorsen, who passed away on April 15, 2017; and her brother, Bobby Robertson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503 Betty's funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home.
