CPD: Greer, Conn and Burton receive promotions By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department The Columbia Police Department wishes to announce the promotions of three officers within the department. Sergeant Charles Greer has been named as Major, Assistant Chief and Officers James Andrew Conn and Evan Burton have been promoted to the positions of Sergeant. Charles Greer has been with The Columbia Police Department since 2010 and previously worked for the Adair County Sheriff's Office prior to joining the Columbia Police. Sergeant Conn has been with The Columbia Police Department over 10 years, while Sergeant Burton joined the Columbia Police Department in 2019 after previously serving with the Russell County Sheriff's Office.
