Four Blue Raiders named to AFCA-NAIA Football All-America Teams By Joel Snyder Cameron Dukes headlines a quartet of Lindsey Wilson football players selected to the 2021 Spring AFCA-NAIA Coaches' All-America Teams announced on Wednesday by the American Football Coaches Association. Also securing AFCA honors are sophomores Josh Lewis and Terrill Cole, and junior Luke Bowman. Each received honorable mentions for their respective positions. Dukes was selected as the second-team quarterback after helping guide the Blue Raiders to their first NAIA National Championship game appearance in program history. The Shepherdsville, Ky., senior has compiled the fifth-most total offensive yards in the NAIA -- 2,398 through the air, and 373 on the ground. Dukes boasts an NAIA third-best pass efficiency rating of 182.3, including 33 passing touchdowns to ten different receivers. With his feet, Dukes has contributed seven touchdowns while chipping in 37.3 rushing yards per game. Lewis, who ranks number three in Division I in punt return yards per attempt (15.9), garnered all-purpose honors. Cole locked up an honorable mention as a wide receiver behind 846 total receiving yards and a team-high 13 receiving touchdowns. Bowman picked up the nod as a linebacker, having turned in a team-best 71 tackles, including two fumble recoveries for 52 yards. It is the first career AFCA selection for each of the four Blue Raiders recognized. The AFCA has selected an All-America Team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best -- the coaches themselves. This story was posted on 2021-05-05 18:17:33
