Tornado Warning issued until May 3 at 9amCT by NWS

UPDATE 10amCT: Emergency Management Director Mike Keltner issued the following statement regarding the waring siren, "In regard to the 8:30am tornado warning, the warning sirens were not sounded due to the warning area not being covered by sirens. Bluegrass cell phone apparently alerts if you are near a warning, we have no control over cell phone warnings or national weather service locations."

The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Tornado Warning for Burkesville, Leslie, Waterview, Cundiff, Creelsboro, Grider, Chance, Inroad, Ribbon and Amandaville until 900 AM CDT

At 830 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles west of Burkesville, moving northeast at 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.


Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. If you are in one of those locations, take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
