Jerry Holt's memory honored with tree planting

By Catherine Wibbels, Columbia Rotary Club President
and Women's Resident Director at Lindsey Wilson College

Monday, April 12, 2021 the Columbia Rotary Club, Adair County Garden Club, and members of the Lindsey Wilson College Family, planted a Redbud tree as living tribute in memory of Veteran and Rotarian, Gerald "Jerry" Holt in front of the Holloway Health and Wellness Center.

Jerry was born on May 8, 1944 and passed away at the age of 76 surrounded by loved ones on February 25, 2021.

Jerry was best known for his colorful outfits and mismatched bright socks; however, he served in many organizations including the Columbia Rotary Club, Adair County Garden Club, Adair County Democratic Party, and the Holloway Wellness Center. Jerry's kindness, genuineness, passion, and positive outlook on life will be missed by all who had come across him.

Those present for the tree planting were: Joan Dulworth, Jerry's Wife; Chris Haskell, Jerry and Joan's Neighbor; Catherine Wibbels, Columbia Rotary Club President and Women's Resident Director at Lindsey Wilson College; Ted Caldwell, Veteran and Rotarian; Brandon Roark, Rotarian and LWC Men's Area Coordinator; Shelby Herchenrader, Rotarian and LWC Women's Resident Director; Abe Cross, LWC Assistant Dean of Students; and Chris Schmidt, LWC Dean of Students.
