LWC Baseball prepares for final road game of regular season By Brady Budke The regular season has reached its finishing stages for the Lindsey Wilson baseball team, who has just one road contest remaining. That final road game will take place Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pmCT in Midway, Kentucky as the Blue Raiders will battle Midway (KY) at Tracy Farmer - Don Ball Stadium. According to the Midway University Athletics Attendance Policy, fans and/or spectators from visiting teams will not be allowed to attend this game. However, live video, live stats, and live updates will be available. Lindsey Wilson has won three straight games in the series dating back to 2019. Earlier this season on March 24, the Blue Raiders corralled an 18-5 win at Egnew Park over the Eagles. Midway (10-22) has hit a rough part of the schedule, falling victim to six straight losses entering the contest today. The Eagles are averaging 6.4 runs per game on offense while allowing opponents to average eight runs per game in return. Fielding continues to be a struggle for MU, who has accumulated the worst marks in the River States Conference of 2.5 errors per game and 83 total errors. On offense, Ryan Davis serves as the team's top threat by leading the way with 36 total hits. As for Lindsey Wilson (19-20), the squad enters today winners of two straight games. The Blue Raiders continue to thrive on offense, sitting second-best in the Mid-South Conference in runs scored per game (seven) and hits per game (9.7). Derek Zavala also brings speed to the offense with his conference-high 20 stolen bases. However, defensively, LWC ranks second-worst in the MSC in hits allowed per game (9.8) and third-worst in runs allowed per game (7.3). This story was posted on 2021-04-20 09:58:03
