LWC women's soccer season ends after loss to Spring Arbor By Kyle Jackson Spring Arbor, MI - The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team's season ended Saturday afternoon after losing 3-0 to host Spring Arbor in the final of the NAIA Tournament opening round. Alicia Thoresen led the Blue Raiders on the afternoon with two shots on goal. Maria Frazier, Emma Lindell, and Yudaya Nakayenze all had at least one shot on goal in the match. Eveljn Frigotto led the game in saves for the Blue Raiders, making 12 in the match. As a team, the Blue Raiders were outshot by the Cougars 23-8 with a 15-5 shot on goal mark. The Cougars came out aggressive to start the match, putting Frigotto under pressure early in the game and forcing the goalkeeper into four early saves. Mackenzie Selvius opened the scoring for the Cougars in the 14th minute with the fifth shot of the match, beating Frigotto to make it 1-0. The Blue Raiders got off a few shots at the end of the half, trying to find the equalizer, but nothing was working as Spring Arbor lead at the break. Things went from bad to worse in the second half for the Blue Raiders as Lexi Ponstein made it 2-0 later in the half for Spring Arbor. The assist leader for the Cougars got her ninth assist of the year in the 74th minute when she found the head of Alyvia Thorne for the 3-0 lead and final score of the match.
