Letter: Concern over lack of temperature checks

Janet Piercy Willerson writes:
I accidently learned this morning that Adair County Schools are no longer checking the temperatures of children prior to entering the school buildings or boarding the school buses.

It is my understanding from talking with Dr. Pam Stephens that the temperature taking is no longer a state or federal requirement. A school system can opt to continue taking temperatures at their discretion.

I think temperatures of these children should continue to be taken. I have not seen any information advising of this change in procedure for Adair County.
