LWC Women's Track & Field finishes first at Centre Invitational

Danville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team took first place at the Centre Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Raiders racked up six first-place finishes during the event.

Laila Hardin took first place in the 400-meter dash when she crossed the finish line at one minute and 00.98 seconds. Bailie Colcord took fourth place in the event with a time of 1:03.16.

Kerryann Scott took first place in the 100-meter dash when she broke the line in 12.77 seconds as Emilija Kusic finished just behind in second place with a time of 13.07 seconds.

Meredith Johnson managed a second-place finish at 11:52.14 during the 3000-meter steeplechase. Kirsten Crepps finished in second place during the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.30.


Scott added another first-place finish in the 200-meter dash when she crossed the finish line in 26.58. Hardin finished just behind in second place at 26.97 as Luna Senica claimed fourth with a time of 27.58.

In the 1500-meter run, Alyssa Sharp took fifth place with a mark of 5:15.49, and Kaylee Masden took ninth at 5:22.55.

As for the field events, Maya Caon headlined the shot put as she took first place with a mark of 12.91-meters.

Lindsey Wilson dominated the long jump as four Blue Raiders finished inside the top-5. Ty'Nasia Walker took first at 5.51-meters and Kusic finished in second with a 5.27-meter leap. Senica claimed fourth with a 5.13-meter mark as Tatiana Williams produced a 5.08-meter jump.

Walker and Williams finished one-two in the triple jump with marks of 11.55-meters and 10.94-meters, respectively.

Brianna Laws produced a distance of 36.89 meters in the hammer throw for fifth place.

Kusic placed third in the javelin with a mark of 34.71-meters as Caon took fifth at 29.63-meters. Caon added a third-place finish in the discus at 35.59-meters.

The Blue Raiders return to action on April 9th when they take to the Centre Twilight in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
