Glenna Edwards, 83, Adair County, KY native (1937-2021) Columbia native Sue Ingram Sherman, San Antonia, TX, asked that we share the loss of her dear friend Glenna Young Edwards on Columbia Magazine. They kept in touch every day. Glenna's obituary information follows. Glenna L. Edwards, age 83, of Somerset, KY passed from this life on Saturday, March 20, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Columbia, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jack Young and Ruth Vanhoy Young. Glenna was an avid reader and had a genuine passion for taking care of others, including her beloved dogs and cats. She would send birthday cards to many family and friends as an act of kindness. She was a loving devoted wife of 56 years to the Late H. O. Edwards. She was a caring and compassionate caregiver who spent several years as a Clerical Associate at the Lake Cumberland Medical Associates in Somerset as a dedicated employee. Glenna was a kind-hearted, friendly and generous person and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was of the Christian Faith and a member of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children; Chris (Emily) Edwards of Owensboro, Kentucky and Stephanie (Brian) Whitaker of Somerset, Kentucky, a sister; Betty Young of Somerset, four grandchildren; Hannah (Austin) Coomer, Emily Whitaker, Joshua Edwards and Addy Reese, two great-grandchildren; Lakynn Baber and Kipp Baber as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service, Bro. Brian Whitaker officiating.
