LWC Volleyball to conclude 4-game road trip against Bethel By Kyrin Mayfield The No. 23 Lindsey Wilson volleyball team hits the road one more time for a meeting with Bethel (TN) on Thursday in McKenzie, TN. First serve is at 7pmCT. Live stats and live video will be available. Please read the Bethel Fan Attendance Policy for attendance information. This is the second meeting of the season between the two programs after facing off on Feb. 25 in a game the Blue Raiders won 3-1. Lindsey Wilson held the Wildcats to a .084 hit percentage and forced a season-high 10 reception errors. The Blue Raiders (10-2, 7-1 Mid-South Conference) enter the match after taking down two teams last Saturday that appeared in the most recent NAIA Coaches' Poll. Life (Ga.) received votes in the poll but was no match for Lindsey Wilson, as the Blue Raiders swept the Running Eagles and No. 25 Reinhardt (Ga.). Lindsey Wilson hit over .290 in each of the two games and possesses an MSC-best .230 hit percentage on the season. Alexis Smith led the squad in kills in both matches with a total of 25 over the six sets. She tied her season-high with 16 against Reinhardt and paces the team with 3.5 kills per set, fifth-most in the conference. Radaisy Valdez is Lindsey Wilson's most efficient hitter with a .277 hit percentage, second-highest in the MSC. The freshman continues to be an obstacle at the net for opposing attackers as she averages 0.9 blocks per set with three or more in four of the last five matches. In the back row, Peyton Johnston continues to record digs and aces at a high rate. The senior defensive specialist leads the MSC in aces per set with 0.5 and notched 13 digs in the previous match against Reinhardt. Bethel (6-7, 4-5 MSC) is on a three-game winning streak with sweeps over conference foes Cumberlands (Ky.) and Pikeville (Ky.) as well as a straight-set win against Lyon (Ark.) on Tuesday. Hannah McGowan is the Wildcats' top attacking option with an average of 10.4 total attempts in each set at 3.8 kills per set, third-most in the MSC. Addison Coulter balances out McGowan's strong attacks by providing stout defense on the front line. The junior middle blocker accumulates one block per set, fourth-most in the conference, and registered 19 in the past four matches. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series 9-2 against Bethel and is 2-0 on the road. Additionally, the Blue Raiders claimed victory in each of the previous three meetings.
