LWC No. 16 Women's Tennis Defeats Marian

No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis (2-1, 0-0 Mid-South Conference) earned their second win of the season this afternoon at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex defeating (RV) Marian (Ind.) 6-1.

Lindsey Wilson got off to a 1-0 start after winning two of the three doubles matches to begin the afternoon. #14 Alexandra Parra and Lucia Mora defeated Laura Kuebler and Teodora Simion 6-2 in the first-seeded match while Reshma Challarapu and Salome Sposetti defeated Sarah Wittenbaum and Kathrina Bopst 6-3 in the second-seeded match to secure the doubles point.

Lindsey Wilson continued the afternoon with five singles wins, the first coming from #22 Alexandra Parra defeating Kathrina Bopst 6-1, 6-0 in the first-seeded singles match.



#31 Lucia Mora would grab the next win for the Blue Raiders with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Teodora Simion.

#26 Parisa Rachdanone claimed the third singles win of the day with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Laura Kuebler.

Reshma Challarapu won 6-1, 3-6, 1-0, (10-5) over Sarah Wittenbaum while Salome Sposetti won 6-0, 6-1 over Alexa Elpers.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday, March 12, as the Blue Raiders will open Mid-South Conference play when they travel to take on Martin Methodist (Tenn.). The event is slated to begin at noon CT.
