LWC Football No. 4 in NAIA poll

The Lindsey Wilson football team earned the No. 4-ranking in the first edition of the 2020-21 NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top-25 poll, officials at the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders received 367 voting points and are the highest-rated team from the Mid-South Conference. LWC is 1-0 on the season after opening play with a commanding 49-0 win over Pikeville (Ky.).

Next up for the Blue Raiders is a Friday, February 26, 2021, matchup with Cumberlands (KY) at Blue Raider Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 2:30pmCT.



Morningside (Iowa) is No. 1 in the poll with 418 points and 17 of the 18 first-place votes. Marian (Ind.) is ranked second in the poll with 396 points. Grand View (Iowa) tallied 390 points and the final first-place vote while College of Idaho rounds out the top-five with 335 points.

Joining the Blue Raiders in the poll from the MSC is No. 6 Keiser (Fla.), No. 10 Reinhardt (Ga.), No. 17 Cumberlands (Ky.) and No. 19 Georgetown (Ky.).

Southeastern (Fla.) is mentioned in the receiving votes section of the poll.
