LWC wrestling heads to MSC Championship on Saturday By Christopher Coombs The Lindsey Wilson wrestling team kicks off postseason action at the Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Championship at the Ephram White Gymnasium beginning 10amCT on Saturday in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The championship was originally slated to take place on Friday but due to inclement winter weather, the event was pushed back to Saturday. This season the MSC Tournament is split into a North and South division which will each hold their own separate championships. Lindsey Wilson - the MSC North Division Regular Season Champions - is set to face off with Cumberlands (Ky.), Campbellsville (Ky.), Thomas More (Ky.), Midway (Ky.) and Rio Grande (Ohio). Due to local capacity regulations, there will not be any spectators allowed at the North Division Tournament. The South Division tournament is taking place in Lakeland, Florida and will feature Brewton-Parker (Ga.), Keiser (Fla.), Life (Ga.), Southeastern (Fla.) and St. Thomas (Fla.). The top wrestler in each weight class receives First-Team All-MSC accolades, while the second-best wrestler receives second-team all-conference honors. The Mid-South Conference gets 56 automatic bids into the NAIA National Championship with 36 going to the North Division and 20 going to the South Division. Last season, The Blue Raiders finished in second place at the Mid-South Conference Championships. In total, four Blue Raiders earned all-conference honors including returners Derrick Smallwood, Trevor Lawson and Brandon Reed who were named to the first-team while Cagen Wallace picked up second-team honors.
