Blue Raiders defeat Campbellsville By Christopher Coombs Campbellsville, KY - The No. 2-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team picked up a 22-14 win against Campbellsville University that came down to the final two matches to win the Mid-South Conference North Division Regular Season Title. Trailing 14-9 entering the 184-pound bout, the Blue Raiders rattled off three straight wins to claim the victory. Tyler Hall (No. 5 at 184) kicked off the run with a 5-1 decision over David Richardson. Trevor Lawson (No. 2 at 197) gave the Blue Raiders their first lead since the 157-pound match when he defeated Jaden Sonner on an 8-0 major decision. Now leading 15-14, Brandon Reed (No. 1 at HW) sealed the deal for Lindsey Wilson when he pinned Alex Coleman in just 40 seconds to give the Blue Raiders a 22-14 win over their bitter rivals. Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville split the opening four matches via decisions as Gabe Adams won at 133-pounds over Cameron Henderson 3-2 and Trent Johnson (No. 2 at 149) defeated Luke Story 9-3. Derrick Smallwood (No. 2 at 157) gave LWC a lead, 9-6, at the halfway point when he defeated Tristan Sellmer on a 10-4 decision. Campbellsville would claim a decision at 165-pounds and a major decision at 174-pounds to lead 14-9 heading into the final three matches but failed to pick up another win. The MSC Regular Season Championship is the Blue Raiders sixth in program history last accomplishing the feat during the 2016-17 season.
