LWC Basketball faces Thomas More again Saturday

The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's basketball teams are set to return to action on Saturday to face Thomas More (KY) in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The women are slated to tipoff at 12:30pmCT, while the men will follow shortly after at 3pmCT.

Thomas More is not allowing visiting fans to indoor events. Please view the Thomas More Fan Attendance Policy for more information. Live video and live stats will be available for these games.

In the earlier meeting between the two programs, LWC claimed victory on the women's side by a final of 73-63 on Jan. 18, while TMU corralled the victory on the men's side by a score of 67-51 on Jan. 11.



The No. 4 Thomas More women's basketball team (16-1, 11-1 MSC) easily dropped off Cumberland (Tenn.) by a final of 76-51 on Thursday at home.

Despite shooting just 34.4 percent from the field in the loss to the Blue Raiders on Monday, the Saints improved up to a 48.3% mark on Thursday against the Phoenix. Zoie Barth enters Saturday carrying a heavy workload for her squad, leading the way in points per game (14.1), assists per game (3.3), and steals per game (2.0).

The No. 17 Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team (12-2, 7-2 MSC) fell hard on Thursday to No. 9 Shawnee State (Ohio) by a score of 77-58 in a road matchup.

LWC managed just a 30.3% mark from the field in the loss, but continues to see favorable performances from Hailey Ison and Bree Glover. Ison enters tommorrow having garnered four-straight double-digit scoring performances, while Glover has notched four-straight double-digit rebound games to lead the conference at 10.3 RPG.

Over on the men's side, the Thomas More men's basketball team (9-4, 7-4 MSC) tasted defeat on Thursday at home against Cumberland by a score of 61-57.

Reid Jolly and Ryan Batte kept the Saints within arm's reach of the Phoenix on Thursday, and continue to guide the team forward this season. Jolly, who was tabbed the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, is shooting 53% from the floor while averaging a team-high 19.8 PPG and 6.8 RPG. Batte sits right behind at 19.2 PPG while having managed double-digit scoring performances in all 13 of the team's contests this season.

As for the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team (4-10, 2-9 MSC), the squad was defeated 90-70 against No. 7 Shawnee State on Thursday.

Four Blue Raiders managed double-figures in the loss against the Bears, led by Ryan Friday who tallied 14 points. On the season, Payton Cundiff leads the team in 3-pointers made (36), while Colen Gaynor produces 11.1 PPG and 7.5 RPG averages.
