Timothy Neal "Tim" Simpson of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of Joyce Aleen Bonta Simpson of Greensburg and the late Billy Dean Simpson, was born on Sunday, October 14, 1962 in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and was an active member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, proud father and grandpa. He loved his family with all his heart and would do anything for them. He was easily persuaded to do anything those grandbabies asked him to do. He was also proud to be a Kentucky State Trooper. He graduated in 1989 from the Academy where he served as Cadet Class #67 Chaplain. He worked the road from 1989 to 1994 at Henderson Post #16 then from 1994 to 2008, he became DESI West Drug Task Force Detective until retirement. Law Enforcement was in his blood and he couldn't stay retired long, when he decided to return back to work, working for Campbellsville Police HIDTA Task Force as a detective from 2008 until 2012 in which he retired to take care of his wife and open SRC Firearms. He received a call asking for his help to clean up the streets in Casey County where he became a Deputy Sheriff with Casey County Sheriff Drug Enforcement from July 2019 to present. He absolutely loved law enforcement. He was the recipient of the Troopers Metal in 1992 for heroic measures and trooper of the year nominee 2007 and recipient in 2008. He was president of the Green County Sportsman Club from 2006 to present. He was a dedicated trap shooter and shot every Thursday night. He was also a former Green County Ambulance board member.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lana Carol Loyall Simpson of Greensburg, having united in marriage on December 9, 1983.

Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Samantha and Brian Morgan, Becky and Jeremy Benningfield, and C.J. and Derek Yates all of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Kimber Morgan, Barrett Benningfield, Steyr Benningfield, Ruger Yates, and Abby Yates; a sister: Gail Simpson of Greensburg; two sisters-in-law: Sherry Loyall and Mitzi Loyall both of Mt. Sherman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island, or Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.
