Joseph Thaddeus (Thad) Smith, 88, Campbellsville, KY (1932-2020)

Joseph Thaddeus (Thad) Smith of Campbellsville passed away on December 16, 2020, at his home, after a extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11amET on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 429 North Central Ave. in Campbellsville. Father Saju Vadakumpadan will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery.

Walk through visitation is requested from 5pmET to 8pmET on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the Auberry Funeral Home, 503 East Main St, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will continue from 9amET, Monday, December 21, 2020, till time of service at the church.

Social distancing guidelines and mask are required upon entering building.



Joseph Thaddeus (Thad) Smith, 88, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph Clarence Smith and Croakie Josephine Mudd was born on October 18th, 1932, in Washington County, Kentucky.

He had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Thad studied art in college and was a self-employed art illustrator and screen printer. He served in the United States Army.

Mr. Smith united in marriage to Teresa Odell Smith of Campbellsville, Kentucky, on May 21st, 1960, whom survives.

Survived by two sons and two daughters: Jerome Scott Smith of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Donna Maria Wolford of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Joseph Dale Smith of Campbellsville; and Mary Lynn Smith of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Survived by seven grandchildren: Jacob Wolford of Campbellsville, Kentucky; April McKeil of Murray, Kentucky; Ashley Rameriz of Campbellsville, KY; Joseph Smith of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Cameron Turner of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Ethan Stamp of Campbellsville, Kentucky; and Henry Smith of Lansing, Michigan.

Survived by twelve great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Beside his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by one sister: Teresa Carol Smith was stillborn in 1964.
