James K. Sheene, 54, Burgin, KY (1966-2020) James K. Sheene of Burgin passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, in Harrodsburg. He was 54 years old. Cremation rites will be honored. There will be a memorial service and military rites held at a later date. Born December 11, 1966, in Danville, KY, he was the son of Billy Jean Lester Sheene of Liberty and the late Robert D. "Bob" Sheene, Sr. He was raised in Moreland, KY. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1985 where he played in the band. He then obtained his Associate's Degree from ITT and he was a fiber optic technician. James was a US Army veteran and he enjoyed playing music. Survivors include his mother, Billy Jean Lester Sheene of Liberty; sons, Zachery Garrick (and Holly) Sheene of Cambridge, OH and Simon Sheene of Henderson, KY; daughter, Kaitlynn Sheene of Newport, KY; brother, Robert (and Sheila) Sheene of Liberty; sister, Jennifer (and Richard) Overstreet of Dunnville; five grandchildren; his companion, Becky Yocum; and lifelong best friends, Scott Jeffries and Tommy Gadberry. He was preceded in death by his father and his son, Patrick Kendall Sheene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either: Tunnels to Towers https://tunnel2towers.org/ or to Mercer County EMS, 130 Commercial Drive, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
