Virginia (Sue) Bailey, 75, Columbia, KY (1945-2020)

Virginia "Sue" Pendleton Bailey of Columbia passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the T. J. Health Columbia.

Graveside services will be held at 11amCT on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the Bear Wallow Cemetery. Rev. Troy Long and Rev. Jordan Abell will be officiating. The public is welcome to attend.

For the health and respect of the family, please follow all rules for social distancing and everyone attending will be required to wear a mask or face covering.



Born on January 19, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Finis and Fannie Curry Pendleton. She was also preceded in death by a sister Vivian Joyce Pendleton and a brother Huston Pendleton.

Sue was a retired Social Worker and a member of the Bear Wallow United Methodist Church. She was an original founder of the Bear Wallow Cemetery Board and had served as church treasurer and historian for many years. She was also a member of the Happy Homemakers Club and devoted many years to genealogy; she thoroughly enjoyed attending her grandchildren's baseball & softball games as well as spending time with all of her family.

Sue is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Jr. Bailey of Columbia; three daughters Joyce Nuckolls (Scotty), Jennifer Hardin (Kenny) and Jo Janes (Jeremy); seven grandchildren Caitlyn & Cassie Nuckolls, Josh & Kendyl Hardin, Jordan, Jailyn & Jarett Janes and a three week old great grandson Jettson Campbell; a loving sister and brother-in-law Dorthy & Bill Bailey and a special niece Beth Bailey; two sisters-in-law Irene Harmon & Julia Bailey; a brother-in-law Danny Bailey (Linda) and several nieces & nephews and a host of other friends and relatives including two special people in her life Cathy Shelton & Marilyn Janes.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Nuckolls, Kenny Hardin, Jeremy Janes, Bill Bailey, John Pendleton, and Stacy Pendleton.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may be left in the form of donations to the Bear Wallow Cemetery Fund.
