William Thomas Brown, 86, Russell Springs, KY (1933-2020)

William Thomas Brown of Russell Springs passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Russell County Hospital. He was 86 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation is requested from 11amCT to 1pmCT on Tuesday.



He was born August 22, 1933, in Russell County, Kentucky, to the late Lesley Brown and Sarah Lee Hall Brown.

He was a Veteran of US Army. A member of New Friendship Baptist Church and a former employee of Tarter Gate.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include:

  • His wife, Ruthie Brown, Russell Springs
  • Three children, Bobby (Andra) Brown, Russell Springs, Billy Brown, Russell Springs, and Rhondra Blankenship, Russell Springs
  • Six grandchildren: Sarah Stapp, Brad Brown, Brian Brown, Timothy Lee Brown, Charlie Gaskins, Tosha Miller
  • Nine great grandchildren
  • A sister, Edna Mae Wells, New Albany, IN
