Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond, 65, Green County, KY

Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond of Greensburg, KY departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Brown and Corine McCarol Brown, was born on Thursday, March 3, 1955 in Adair County. She was 65 years, 3 months, and 20 days of age.

There will be graveside services at 6pmCT Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Bell Cemetery with Chris Clark officiating. Visitation is requested from 4-5pmCT Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Steve Stone, Donald Stone, Darrin Brown, Gavin Brown, Jacob Brown, and James Hammond.



She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Taylor's Chapel United Methodist Church.

She united in marriage to Joseph Alton Bennett on October 9, 1970 who preceded her in death on February 14, 1999. She later united in marriage to: Gwen Hammond who survives.

Survivors include a daughter: Crystal Bennett of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Joseph Wyatt Bennett, Brittany Nicole Bennett, and Jonus Breyden Bennett all of Hodgenville; a brother: Kenneth Brown of Greensburg; a sister: Libby Milby of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two sons: Joseph Allen Bennett, and Larry Douglas Bennett; and a brother: Stanley Brown on May 10, 2020.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bell Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
