Jerry Karnes, 73, Cane Valley, KY (1946-2020)

Jerry Karnes of the Cane Valley community passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 12:08 P.M. at Norton HealthCare in Louisville. He was 73 years old.

The family has chosen to have a drive-thru visitation from 5pmCT to 7pmCT on Monday, May 18, 2020, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with private burial to follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

He was born July 6, 1946, in Adair County, to the late James and Marie Risen Karnes, a member of Cane Valley Christian Church, a retired truck driver and farmer.

Survivors include:
  • His wife - Janice DeSpain Karnes of Cane Valley
  • One son - Eric Karnes of Columbia
  • One daughter - Kim Grant of Columbia
  • Two sisters - Mary Sewell and her husband Bobby, Linda Daniels and her husband Lee all of Louisville
  • Two grandchildren - Hillary Karnes & Wyatt Grant
  • Several other relatives and friends
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the America Diabetes Association which can be left or mailed to the funeral home.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
