Seeing Roscoe and Rory reminds neighbor of good times

Stephen Keen posted a photo of their at-home church celebrations with his mother Montra - the picture reminded us how much we appreciate her and prompted good memories.

Fellow retired Adair Public School teacher Ellen Zornes said, "Montra and I were neighbors and friends for several years before we downsized and moved back to town.

"Seeing Roscoe and Rory (on the chair) reminded me of such good times.

We were just waving-to-each other neighbors at first but our love of dogs brought us together in a big way! Montra, Nannie, and her then dog, Duke, kept her children and grandchildren’s dogs for them while they were at work.

"After I had retired and we had gotten Lucy, she needed socialization so she and I walked to Nannie’s Doggie Day Care daily and wiled away the hours. Montra regaled me with stories of her life as a child, teenager and her college years at WKU.

"I soaked up as much history as I could and greatly enjoyed our visits. We are glad to be downsized but I do miss Montra, all the puppies and the old ‘Hood’. Good to see you, Montra! Enjoy Easter services."

Montra Keen, son Stephen and family attending church online

2020-04-11 - Columbia - Photo from the family.
Montra Keen and her son Stephen of Columbia are going to church, at home with their pets, on the deck, by the pool. The screen is set up ready for the service to be streamed live over the internet into their home. The photo was shared last Sunday morning when the weather was milder, but they will attend Easter services the same way, over the internet, while gathering places, including our church buildings, close continuing to fight the spread of the Coronavirus. Stephen added with their photo, "Thank you Jesus!"
