Vinice Fay Roach Finley Tinsley, 90, Burkesville, KY native (1929-2020)

Mrs. Vinice Fay Roach Finley Tinsley of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Westside Village Nursing Home in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was 90 years old.

The PRIVATE funeral service for Mrs. Vinice Fay Roach Finley Tinsley will be conducted on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at 1pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating.

Private burial will be in the Bow School House Cemetery.

Friends may come by Wednesday April 1, from NoonCT until 1pmCT to sign the register book. No admittance will be permitted into the chapel.


She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Monday, October 7, 1929, the daughter of George Haggard and Nettie Rush Roach. She attended Lakeview Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and New Sulphur Baptist Church in Cumberland County.

She was a retired machinist for Allison/General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Keith Finley, stepson, Wayne Tinsley, sisters, Opal Coop, Dulcie Lynch, Doris Kennedy, Bernice Key, Vernie Upton, Gwendolyn Perkins, brothers, Paul Roach, Hall Roach, Howard Roach, Ray Roach.

She is survived by her husband, William Tinsley of Indianapolis Indiana, children, Phyllis Slaughter of Burkesville, Kentucky, Billy Daryl (and Connie) Finley of Burkesville, Kentucky, step-daughters, Debbie Coward, Carol Tinsley, Kay Tinsley, Phyllis Plumber, Tina Gardner, Gena Robey, grandchildren, Tammy (and Robbie) Wright, Jenny (and Brian) Moffitt, Dustin (and Stevie) Finley, Amber Finley, Heather (and Brett) Reliford, eleven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and many treasured nieces and nephews.
