Joseph Henry Kimbler, age 81, with family in Adair and Russell

Joseph Henry Kimbler, age 81, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 27, 2020. From Shepherdsville, a lot of his family lives in Adair and Russell county.

Funeral service will be held at 5pmCT/6pmET on Monday, March 2, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood, and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 11amCT/12noonET until the time of the service at the funeral home.



He was a faithful Christian and servant of Little Flock Baptist Church, a veteran, husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by parents, Edgar Hayes and Ruby Roy Kimbler and brother, Bobby Kimbler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gladys Brown Kimbler; children, Angelia Miller (Phil) and Mark Kimbler; 5 grandchildren, Alex Trader, Nick Kimbler, Kimberly (Ethan Selby), Ashley and David Miller; siblings, Jack Kimbler (Lila), Jewel Kimbler, Faye Simpson (Alvis), Delcia Cook (Don), and Harry Kimbler (Delaine) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

The obituary is a courtesy to the family by Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
