Elizabeth Ann Smith, 14, Columbia, KY (2005-2020)

Elizabeth was a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church in Casey County where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a Treasurer of the Freshman Class at Adair County High School, a member of the Academic Team and, while at Adair County Middle School, a member of Sources of Strength.

Elizabeth Ann Smith of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 4:55 P.M. at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the Adair County High School Gymnasium, 526 Indian Dr, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Rodney Smith, Bro. Clifton Cowan, Bro. Doug Smith and Bro. Matt Cowan officiating. Burial will follow in Bearwallow Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 4pmCT on Saturday and from 7amCT until 11:30amCT on Sunday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, and after NoonCT on Sunday at the Gymnasium.



She was born March 11, 2005 in Lexington, Kentucky. Elizabeth professed her faith in Christ, was baptized and became a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church in Casey County where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a Treasurer of the Freshman Class at Adair County High School, a member of the Academic Team and, while at Adair County Middle School, a member of Sources of Strength.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Walker Smith, Paternal Grandfather, Jimmy Smith and Maternal Grandmother, Vicki Cowan.

Survivors include:
  • Her parents - Rodney and Rebecca Cowan Smith of Columbia
  • One sister - Emily Smith of Columbia
  • Paternal Grandmother - Eloise Smith of Albany
  • Maternal Grandfather - Clifton Cowan of Russell Springs
  • Two Aunts - Joy Bowlin and Jenny Harlan both of Albany
  • Three Uncles - Doug Smith of Albany, Chris Smith of Edmonton, Matt Cowan of Houston, Texas
  • A host of other relatives and friends
