Marie Sparks, 82, Russell County, KY (1937-2019)

Marie Sparks, 82, of Jamestown, KY and formerly of Columbia, KY died Friday, November 15, 2019.

Funeral services will be 1pmCT Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11amCT until time for the service.

Bro. Joe Sullivan will be officiating and pallbearers will be Ryan Smith, Josh Smith, Jason Smith, Todd Barnes, Jonathan Smith, Steve Smith and Johnny Bean.



Born in Russell Springs, KY she was the daughter of the late Lonzo and Maggie Stephens Smith and wife of the late James "Jimmy" Thomas Sparks.

Mrs. Sparks was a member of the Clearfork Baptist Church at Eli, KY and former employee of Young & Wilson Drug Store and of Columbia Pharmacy, both in Columbia.

Survivors include two brothers Charles M. Smith (Jo Nell) and Jeff A. Smith (Patty) both of Russell Springs; two sisters Doris Barnes Blair and Glenna Bean (J. C.) both of Russell Springs, KY; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Elizabeth Sparks and a sister Anna Norman.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clearfork Baptist Church c/o Bro. Greg Wade @ 1176 Clearfork Rd. Russell Springs, KY 42642.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
