Dortha Ellen Hoosier, 84, Taylor County, KY (1935-2019)

Dortha Ellen (Rich) Hoosier of Campbellsville passed from this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Taylor Regional Hospital.

There will be a funeral service to honor her life on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 12noonCT/1pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Barnett's Creek Cemetery, 1342 Barnetts Creek Rd, Columbia, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 16, from 5-8pm.



Born on January 18, 1935 to the late Louie S. and Birtie Matilda (Davis) Rich, she was 84 years, 9 months, and 26 days of age. Mrs. Hoosier had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Her kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed and cherished for generations.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Six children: Kathy Abston of Greensburg, and Carol Cox, Lois Hoosier, Joyce Sherrill and fiance James McFarland, Daniel Hoosier and wife Lisa, all of Campbellsville, and Brenda Williamson of Greensburg,

Seven siblings: Kenneth Rich, Hubert Rich, Willard Rich, Donnie Rich, David Rich, Maggie Gentry, and Flossie Martin,

Eighteen grandchildren,

And a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Dean Hoosier, and a grandchild, James Ervin Hoosier.
